AN UPDATE ON VINNIE
Since this flashback to August 2015, Vinnie was selectively shown as a youngster, winning 13 Bests in Shows in Canada and 15 Bests in Specialty in the US.
Vinnie’s show career highlights have been his American Shetland Sheepdog Association American National Awards:
2015 – Best in Futurity
2015 – Select Dog
2016 – Select Dog
2017 – Best of Breed, over entry of 640 Shelties
After winning BOB at the ASSA American National, even thought he had just turned 3 years of age, Vinnie was essentially retired, as is customary for ASSA National winners.
We did make a couple of exceptions to that, and brought him out again for Westminster in 2018, where he won Group 4th
We also showed Vinnie once at the CSSA Canadian National, and he won the 2018 Best in Specialty.
We then entered Vinnie in the Stud Dog class at the 2018 ASSA American National, where he won First Place.
We are ecstatic with Vinnie’s producing ability, as in many cases, Shelties do not breed true.
So far, Vinnie has produced over 50 Champions, including 22 American Champions, numerous National Class Winners and the 2019 ASSA Best Of Winners. For 2019, Vinnie was also the Top Sire of American Specialty Major Winners.
We look forward to continued success in Vinnie’s progeny and showing him on occasion as a Veteran.
