Multi Best In Show Canadian Grand Champion & American Champion

Sunterra Sudden Impact

Carol and Carrie Randle of Symarun Shih Tzu and Pomeranians in Ontario, along with Doug Stratton of Sunterra Pomeranians in British Columbia, are proud to present to the fancy our newest star Landon on this week’s front cover.

After a very successful career with Multi BIS BISS CAN GCH. & AM GCH. Sunterra Star Status, informally known as Chase, who was awarded 16 Best in Shows and was Canada’s #1 Pomeranian in 2014 & 2016.

Doug was watching for another special puppy to join us here in Ontario. In October of 2016 we flew to British Columbia to look at a promising young litter, Landon came home with us from that show. He was the most adorable puppy and we had all our fingers and toes crossed that he would be able to fill Chase’s place in the show ring for us.

Never in our wildest dreams did we expect him to step into that role so quickly. Landon began his career at Northwinds Kennel Club in March of 2017 as a junior puppy, where he was awarded group placements and puppy groups. The following weekend he became a Multi Best Puppy in Show winner. We knew by his third weekend out after becoming a Multi Group Winner and Multi Reserve Best in Show winner that we truly had a special little dog.
In 2017 Landon was awarded in 12 weekends:
11 Best in Shows
5 Reserve Best in Shows
29 Toy Group Firsts
27 Best Puppy in Groups
15 Best Puppy in Shows
He ended 2017 as:
#1 Pomeranian

#3 Toy
As well as Canada’s #2 Puppy of All Breeds
In 2017 we also took Landon to the USA where he was awarded Multi Group Firsts and group placements from the classes to complete his American Championship. We were also awarded 3 Best Owner Handled in Show awards, and along the way he gathered a huge fan club in the USA.
Living in Thunder Bay, Ontario does create a challenge limiting how many shows are accessible for us each year, and also having non-doggy husbands.
We would like to thank Beth Chopey for handling Landon to his first 3 Best In Shows while a puppy, when I was showing our Shih Tzu “Harry” Multi BIS Can Am Ch Symarun’s Talk The Talk in those Best in Show rings.
Carol and Carrie have had the huge privilege of having many great homebred Shih Tzu at the end of their leads. Many of these dogs have gone on to be the Top Dog of All Breeds in many different parts of the world. We also have had much success with American Shih Tzu Club National winners, Canadian Shih Tzu Club National winners, and Best of Breed winners at Westminster, as well as a Best of Breed winner at the World Dog Show. Now we are truly honored to have another great Pomeranian at the end of our lead, and with Landon we can continue our passion with presenting another Pomeranian to the fancy. In only 13 months Landon has accomplished more than many dogs do in their lifetime with 15 All Breed Best in Shows to date.

Landon is currently:
Canada’s #1 Toy
#1 PomeranianWe are most grateful to Doug Stratton for breeding both of our gorgeous boys, but most important for his many years of mentorship and friendship in the Pomeranian breed.

In closing we would like to thank all of the judges who have awarded Landon so highly to date, we look forward with excitement to the rest of 2018, with a dog we named Sudden Impact, who is most definitely living up to his name…
